Service Description
What is it? Proactive approach to detect subclinical lymphoedema allowing for timely interventions and prevention of chronic disease. Scan using a bioimpedance spectroscopy machine, SOZO Regular monitoring and assessment to detect changes in lymph volume and any other indicators of the development of lymphoedema For those at risk of developing lymphoedema. Benefits. Early detection Improved outcomes Reduced progression Better management Education What to expect at my appointment. Your therapist will ask you some brief questions to assess any symptoms You will be asked to remove your shoes and socks and stand on the scanner placing your hands and feet on the electrodes The scan takes approximately 30 seconds Appointments will usually be on a morning Do not eat or drink prior to attending for your appointment. A small amount of fluid with morning medication is acceptable Not suitable for those with pacemakers or any other implantable devices such as pacemakers or those who are pregnant.
