Service Description

What is it? An Intensive program Combes Manual Lymphatic Drainage, compression bandaging, exercise and skin care techniques promotion of self-care strategies and techniques. What are the benefits? This is used to reduce the volume of lymphoedema during acute phases. Increases mobility of the limb Increases quality of life Reduces the chances of developing cellulitis. What can I expect? This Therapy involves sessions of an hour to two hours 3-5 times a week for a short number of weeks. The appointments will include measurements using bioimpedance spectroscopy, circumferential limb measurements, skin care, decongestive massage therapy and compression bandaging as well as information on how to care for your lymphoedema at home. Used in the intensive phase of treatment this therapy is used to drastically reduce limb volume and prepare you for long term management and measurement for compression garments. This therapy is individualized and will be dictated by your initial assessment, personal goals and availability.
